The Pakistan Food Association (PFA) and Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote local food industry. A statement on Sunday said that the MoU was inked in the presence of the members of both associations.
It said that President PFA, Rafiq Rangoonwala and the Chairman, PFMA Syed Jauher Ali Qandhari signed the MoU on behalf of their respective Associations. PFA, Rafiq Rangoonwala said that the objective of the PFA is to provide one platform to all the stakeholders in the local food industry to experience and share each other problems.
He further stated that the PFA is also keen to disseminate information about the chain process in the food industry and to show that Pakistan food industry is well equipped with the state of the art world class standards so that the food industry could grow further and contribute much better to the society.
On this occasion the Chairman PFMA, Syed Jauher Ali Qandhari, said that as 80 per cent of flour is being used in the local food industry, so the close relation of PFMA and PFA will help conducting joint seminars and workshops and foster a united stand while solving the problems. He pointed out that currently there are 150 PFMA members in Sindh while 72 members are in Karachi only. Qandhari said that the MoU will enable PFMA and PFA to improve the local food Industry and provide maximum relief to the local consumers.
