Rain-affected people Sindh govt releases Rs17bn: Shazia Marri

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information Shazia Atta Marri said on Thursday that provincial government has released Rs.17 billion in the head of relief and rehabilitation of rain-affected areas and people.
This she said while addressing a press conference here at committee room of new Sindh secretariat building, secretary Information Mumtaz Shah and others were present on the occasion.
Shazia Marri, who has been given the additional charge of Information's portfolio after the resignation of Sharjil Memon, said that Sindh government is fully focusing on the rehabilitation of rain-affected people and areas for that Rs.17 billion has been released so far.
She said that government has also released Rs.7 billion in the head of Pakistan cards for rain-affected people out of which Rs.5.5 billion has been released by Sindh government while Rs.1.5 billion by the federal government. She said that provincial government has installed 121, RO water plants in the rain-affected areas with the cost of Rs.2.7 billion.
She said that PPP is sacrificing for the sake of democracy in the country, if some people have the greed of government, they should wait for the completion of tenure of current government.
Information minister claimed that PPP would be successful in next election and will serve the nation and country.
She termed the government's decision of making Sherry Rehman ambassador of Pakistan in US very good and congratulated her for this great achievement.
She said that PPP is party of masses and will serve the people in every government.
