Four soldiers including a civilian were martyred in different clashes between militants and paramilitary forces in Swat, Muzaffarabad and North Waziristan Agency, says a press release issued by ISPR on Friday. Two terrorists were also nabbed and large quantity of arms and ammunitions were recovered from their possession, it added.
A suicide bomber exploded himself against an army vehicle close to Shaukat lines in Muzaffarabad, resultantly two soldiers embraced Shahadat, while three others were injured. Search and sweep operation by security forces is continuing in the area under operation Rah-e-Raast. The forces have consolidated their positions in area around Kabbal and Rangeela. During exchange of fire with terrorists one soldier was injured, says the release.
Security forces cleared the area around Khazana, Tangar, Bartana, Libat and villages Baidera and Gamkot. During clearance operation, two terrorists were apprehended and 3 IEDs were successfully neutralised. Clear and search operation at Jabbar Kalle (near Malam Jabba) was carried out by security forces, which neutralised five IEDs, destroyed one tunnel and one shellproof bunker of terrorists.
Terrorists raided at Bagh Derai and Sakhra, which was effectively responded by security forces. One soldier was injured in exchange of fire while the loss inflicted on terrorists was not known. In North Waziristan Agency, a military convoy was targeted by an IED followed by fire at Miranshah, resultantly 3 personnel (two FC soldiers and a civilian contractor) embraced Shahadat while 11 soldiers were injured.
Restoration of services and relief activities are also continuing at fast pace and details in this behalf revealed that road repairing and filling work has been completed around Mingora City by Army engineers. Repair work to restore 76 damaged water pumps is also in progress in Mingora City. Rations and relief items loaded in five trucks were distributed among the IDPs of Malakand on Thursday.
