National Highways and Motorway Police foiled an attempt at terrorism, while defusing a 10 kg bomb hidden in a fire extinguisher, at a CNG station in Akora, Khattak. Motorway police officers were on their routine patrol duty on GT road, in the area of Akora, Khattak, near Nowshera, when they observed a fire extinguisher-like bomb, containing 10 kg explosive material, lying on the hard shoulder of GT road, in front of Haafiz, CNG station.
The NH&MP officers, immediately took safe measures, diverted the traffic from the north-bound to the south-bound. In respect of security arrangements, the public was also warned through the public address system, to keep away from the scene. The squad defused this fire extinguisher-type bomb and resultantly, saved the people from a big disaster.
