President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday directed the Frontier government to devise a plan for providing financial assistance on regular basis to the technical vocational training centers set up in the province for the internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission is operating a number of vocational centers in the province for the IDPs. Spokesperson of the President Farhatullah Babar said that while going through different projects developed for the rehabilitation of IDPs the President noted that the vocational training centers would not be sustainable if they were not linked up to some viable financial support programme.
President Zardari therefore directed the provincial government to devise a well thought-out plan to link up these vocational technical centers with some suitable financial support programme to make them viable and sustainable.
The directive said that apart from exploring the financial support programmes in the public sector, the plan should also consider involving the private sector in devising the plan, the spokesperson said. The directive further asked the Frontier government to keep the Presidency posted with the financial support program for the technical vocational centers set up for the IDPs.
