Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the government was trying to ensure to solve the load shedding problem in Karachi. "I had held a meeting with the Adviser Finance, Shaukat Tarin, and the Federal Minister for Water and Power, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, and discussed load shedding problem in Karachi", he said.
While talking to media after performing the ground-breaking ceremony of Karachi Textile City here at Port Qasim on Saturday evening. Prime Minister said that he had also confirmed from private sources about the extent of load shedding in this city.
He elaborated that he had also asked private sources to confirm the claim of KESC that it was not resorting to load-shedding. "I have asked Nepra people to verify that KESC was not resorting to load-shedding," the Prime minister said. Replying to a question about alleged difference in the ruling coalition, he said that the MQM and the ANP are part of the coalition and they are doing well.
Gilani said that the coalition government would handle the law and order problem in close consultation. Responding to a question about water issue, he stated that he sees no problem in water distribution which is done according to 1991 Water Accord.
To another question, the Prime Minister said that our armed forces were effectively conducting the operation against militants in the troubled areas. Yousuf Raza Gilani paid tributes to those members of the armed forces who embraced martyrdom in the operation against the militants and the terrorists.
