Governor Balochistan, Nawab Zulfikar Ali Magsi, on Saturday said that the induction of Baloch youths in the armed forces is good omen for the country.
Addressing the passing out ceremony of 200 Baloch youths here he added that the coarse and confronting attitude of elements in the establishment and Baloch tribal chieftains were responsible for the gap between the Baloch and other communities of the country.
He said that the country was passing through critical times of its history and called upon the rulers to realise the urgency of the affairs and take measures to strengthen brotherhood among the communities and frustrate the malicious agenda of the enemy, which is out to dismember the country.
He added that due to the faltering past policies, the country was faced with civil war like situation. In order to save the homeland we have to cease ourselves to be used as proxies for the interest of the west. He appreciated the performance of the youths during their training and efforts of their teachers and hoped that the youths would not hesitate from any sacrifice for the defence of the country. Later, talking to media persons, the Governor said that participation of Baloch youths in the armed forces was a big success for the nation.
He added that poverty and unemployment had forced these youths to join the armed forces, which can prove to be the best destination for them. The Governor asserted that though, the politicians of the country were engaged in reconciliation to bring the disgruntled Baloch politicians and youths at the negotiation table but it would take time to redress the excesses made to the province during the last six decades.
To a question, The Governor expressed his deep grief and concern over the reported 200 death of the police servicemen in target killing and asked the force to be tough and retaliate if anybody attempts to target it. The Governor later distributed prizes among the best and the successful youths.
