Leader of the House in Senate, Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, on Saturday said that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) succeeded in coming into power due to tremendous sacrifices rendered by the martyred Chairperson Benazir Bhutto. He was speaking to the ceremony organised here at media foundation in the wake of birth anniversary of Benazir Bhutto, the two times Prime Minister of Pakistan.
'After the martyrdom of BB, Asif Ali Zardari has made commendable contribution to unite the party and took the country out of the prevalent crisis,' he said. He reiterated that PPP would never disappoint its workers-to whom the doors of employment were previously closed in the reign of dictatorship. He lauded the constant struggle of the workers against the dictatorship and said that those workers are infecting the true leaders of the party.
He vowed to fulfill the promise of bread, cloth and shelter (Roti, Kupra and Makan) through launching the 'agrarian revolution'. "Currently the record production of wheat crop is a known example to achieve the goal", he prescribed. Nayyar Bukhari referred the critical situation of 1971, saying 'whether it was 1971 or 2008, PPP has been given credit to face the challenges and took the country out of the crisis.'
He added that the journey towards progress would be continued at any cost in the country. PPP's local leaders of Islamabad chapter including Nargis Faiz Malik, Babar Minhas, Aman-ullah Khan and others also paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of their martyred leader Benazir Bhutto for the restoration democracy in the country.
