Irregularities in revenue departments: CJ takes suo motu notice

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Monday took suo motu notice of highhandedness and irregularities of Patwaris and the revenue departments. Taking notice in the public interest on a news item appeared in the press, the CJ has called comments from members of the revenue boards of the provinces. The Chief Justice has also asked the provincial departments whether there was any system for checking the corruption of the revenue departments.
The Chief Justice asked the departments to explain that system as well.
