The government will not tolerate any embezzlement in the distribution process of relief amount among the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) said Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira here Monday. Addressing a press conference at the Parliament House, the minister said the entire process of disbursement of amounts to the IDPs was transparent; however, strict action would be taken against the involved officials if any complaint received.
He said if anyone has complaint against any individual, the complaint should be filed with the government departments and stringent action would be taken if anyone was found guilty.
"The government, during the incumbent week, would announce the schedule of the return of the IDPs. Most of the areas in the operation zone has been cleared and only some extreme hilly areas are yet to be cleared and soon all the areas would be cleared", he said. He said presently the operation is in final stage, adding that except some small pockets, the security forces have taken over the control of all other areas.
The minister also said that all those IDPs who have not received amounts would get the amount soon so as they could return to their homes. He said the government has so far disbursed Rs 500 million among 50,000 internally displaced families in a transparent and judicious manner.
He paid glowing tributes to IDPs for rendering sacrifices for the national cause and also recalled important role of their ancestors in creation of Pakistan. "We would take care of IDPs at any cost, who rendered sacrifices in creation of Pakistan and now for the supreme national interest," he added. He said operation is being carried out against a handful of militants, who have made the lives of innocent people miserable.
