The Swiss franc rose against the dollar on Tuesday as a growing appetite for risk put pressure on the greenback, pushing it lower against a range of currencies. "Equity markets are stronger and we are seeing a return of risk appetite," said Credit Suisse analyst Marcus Hettinger.
The franc was up 0.3 percent against the dollar compared to the New York close, trading at 1.0796 per dollar. Against the euro, the franc was near flat at 1.5249 per euro, holding steady after a series of rumoured interventions by the Swiss National Bank last week to weaken the franc.
