The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Wednesday ordered for registration of a case against Incharge Organised Crime, CIA, Ali Abbas, for keeping a citizen in his illegal detention for fortnight. The petitioner Muhammad Ikram has moved a habeas corpus petition in the LHC seeking recovery of his son Salman Ikram.
The court deputed a bailiff who recovered Salman from Ghaziabad police station from the illegal custody of Ali Abbas. Police officers told the court that Salman had been arrested in connection with a kidnapping case registered at Mughalpura police station.
However, the police officer admitted that he had not registered his arrest as required under law as he was called by SP. The court therefore ordered SHO Ghaziabad to register case against cop and submit a report with LHC deputy registrar(judicial).
