The traders community have said that the 2009-10 budgets of both the Federal and provincial governments have brought a flood of taxes, having no relief to the poor segment of the society. In a joint statement here on Wednesday, the traders criticised the Federal and provincial budgets, alleging that both the governments had intentionally discredited the budget examiners.
They further said that both the Federal Finance Ministry and the NWFP Finance Department had intentionally paved way for levying extra taxes on the food items, including wheat, rice, ghee, sugar, pulses and utility bills of electricity and gas. The signatories to joint statement are Haji Arshad Javed Gurwara, Aminullah Buneri, Haji Afzal Panyala, Syed Hameed Shah, Khwaja Aftab Iqbal, Haji Abdul Salam and Rizwan Ahmad Gurwara.-PR
