Karachi Transport Ittehad has announced a wheel jam strike on Tuesday, July 14 against increase in rates of diesel and petrol. President Karachi Transport Ittehad, Irshad Ahmed Bukhari said this while presiding over a meeting here on Saturday.
He regretted about the government decision to increase the price of diesel and petrol without any sound justification. He said the transporters reserve the right to increase fares of public transport, "but we do not want another burden on people who also are suffering by heavy price hike." He demanded to the government to withdraw its decision regarding fuel price hike with immediate effect, otherwise, transport community would observe a wheel jam strike after a week.
