He expressed gratitude to the NWFP Chief Minister, Amir Haidar Khan Hoti, who personally took interest in this regard and approved the summary.
He said in Malakand Division the existing UAA ranging from Rs 75 to Rs 200 had been increased from Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 while in Kohistan the increase has been made double as compared to Malakand Division. He said the Kohstanians would receive Rs 2000 to Rs 4000 in the UAA head.
He said that the finance department had approved the case and the file had been moved to the chief minister for the final approval. It may be mentioned here that the standing committee of the NWFP Assembly, headed by MPA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, had passed a resolution in this connection, which was unanimously accepted ensuring 1000 per cent increase in the UAA.
Both the delegations thanked the Minister Finance Engineer Muhammad Humayun Khan and MPA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha for their pro-people efforts in this regard. They said that the finance minister had won the hearts of the people of Malakand Division as well as Kohistan District.
