17 tehsils in Swat, other districts to be formed

The government has decided to form 17 new tehsils in Swat, Buner, Upper and Lower Dir districts to improve law and order and the administrative system in the region. A summary to the effect has been forwarded to the Chief Minister of NWFP. The government has decided to constitute seven tehsils in Swat, four in Lower Dir and three each in Buner and Upper Dir.
The costs of the administrative changes in the region have been estimated at Rs 2.61 billion. The new tehsils in Swat likely to be included Brekot, Char Bagh, Kabal, Khwaza Khella, Behrain and Matta.
