Modest trading was seen on the wholesale grain and seed market on Tuesday as buyers took some interest in the fresh deals, dealers said. On the cereal side sugar low type shed Rs 25 to Rs 4300 while the best type did not show any change at Rs 5000, gur low quality drifted lower by Rs 200 to Rs 6400 and good quality was also down by Rs 100 to Rs 6600, they said.
On the seed sector cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh low type gained Rs 10 to Rs 1330 and low quality shed Rs 5 to Rs 1335, castor seeds Lasbela and Sindh both types posted a rise of Rs 50 to Rs 1150-1175 and Rs 1100-1125, respectively, they said.
On the grams side bajra good type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 2600 while low type stayed put at the overnight level at Rs 1600, they added. Except a fall of Rs 50 in the Irri-6 Sindh prices at Rs 2550-2800, all types maintained the overnight levels on the rice sector, they said.
