The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that talks with New Delhi will be only held when draconian laws are revoked and withdrawal of India troops materialises in occupied Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a delegate session in Badgam said, "Hurriyet has always been supportive of dialogue process but to make the dialogue process meaningful and result oriented, India would have to take certain concrete steps to improve the ground situation in Kashmir."
Explaining the concrete steps he said, "Before entering into any dialogue, black laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Public Safety Act (PSA) should be removed, troops be withdrawn in a phased manner, political prisoners be released without any condition and human rights violations should be stopped in Kashmir."
The APHC Chairman pointed out that India had launched a propaganda campaign at the international level to defame the genuine freedom struggle of Kashmir by linking it with terrorism.
Criticising the puppet Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for changing his stand on troops' withdrawal, Mirwaiz said, "This has been happening in Kashmir for the past 62 years. The rulers of Kashmir have been issuing one statement in Srinagar and changing it when they are in Delhi."
Mirwaiz stated that before the so-called elections, Omar used to talk about withdrawal of Indian forces form Kashmir but now he had backtracked from his promises. The APHC Chairman called upon the Hurriyet activists and general public to participate in large numbers in Lal Chowk Chalo programme on 13 July. He disclosed that the APHC had also invited several international observers and journalists to Kashmir to participate in the Lal Chowk Chalo march. Other APHC leaders who were present in the delegate meeting included Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Agha Syed Hassan and Mukhatar Ahmad Waza.
