The rulers of Pakistan are running the country on foreign dictations thus causing various institutions to come in a state of collision. This was accused by Jamaat-i-Islami's top leadership while congregating a Friday sermon and in observance of demos on protest calls by their leader Syed Munawar Hasan, on Friday.
The protestors were protesting the recent Petroleum Development Levy (Amendment) Ordinance in demonstrations staged outside the mosques and at press clubs. In the Punjab capital, demonstrations were held at Lahore Press Club, Band Road, Chamra Mandi and Shad Bagh where the JI Lahore chief Amirul Azeem termed the imposed taxes a burden on the poor masses.
Meanwhile addressing Friday congregation at Jamia Mansoora, Jamaat-i-Islami chief Syed Munawar Hasan pointed that a war between institutions of the state had begun which was dangerous. "The ministers were defending the ordinance as the rulers have made the constitution a play thing as no sanctity is being shown to it", blamed the JI chief. He stressed that the writ of the government could be established through good governance in accordance with the law and the constitution, and not through drone attacks and military operation.
The JI chief added that all the political parties in the coalition government were equally responsible for the bloodshed going on in the country no matter what they said. He further said that "Go America Go" campaign of was peaceful, aimed at driving the US out of this land. He urged the people to join the JI movement to unleash the unholy designs of the US.
