ISLAMABAD: Minister for Climate Change Senator Mushahidullah Khan has said the democratic system in the country was not strengthened and matured, as it was passing through its transitional period.
Talking to PTV, the minister said former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had given supreme sacrifices for democracy and always respected and trusted the national institutions.
He said despite reservations on the disqualification decision of Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) accepted it for the supremacy of law.
He said during tenure of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif the country was moving on the path of speedy development and every sector was giving positive results.
Mushahidullah Khan said people of the country were having strong affiliation with their beloved leader Nawaz Sharif and nobody could disassociate them with him.
He said people had rejected the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif and their participation in the rally which was started from Islamabad was proof of the fact.
He said Nawaz Sharif was the most papular political leader among people, adding propaganda against the PML-N leadership was baseless.
Replying to a question, he said difference of opinion was the beauty of a democratic system and every big political party have different view points on many matters.
He said enemies of the country were hatching conspiracies for sabotaging the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project which would change not only the fate of Pakistan but of entire region.
He said PTI chief Imran Khan was playing a role of puppet and people were disappointed by his way of politics.
PTI had badly failed to deliver good governance in the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa where it was enjoying full powers, he added.
He said PTI had attacked PTV, Parliament and Prime Minister House and always maligned the national institutions.
