Absconding accused in Shahid Hamid murder case arrested from Jamshoro
KARACHI: An absconding accused in Shahid Hamid, Managing Director of the then KESC murder case identified as Mahboob Ghufran had been arrested by the Jamshoro police.
This was announced by the spokesman of the Sindh Police here on Saturday.
He said that the Jamshoro Police have handed over the accused to the Inspector Sarwar Commando who is investigating officer in the said case.
It was pointed out that the accused was wanted by the police for about 20 years.
The statement further pointed out that an accomplice of the accused, identified as Minhaj Qazi, was arrested by the police in the year 2016.
It said that in this case the concerned court had already declared Altaf Hussain, Nadeem Nusrat and Suhail Zaidi as absconders. The government of Pakistan has already established contact with the Interpol for issuance of red warrants for the arrest, the statement added.
According to police spokesman the arrested accused in Shahid Hamid murder case identified as Mahboob Ghufran while recording his confessional statement under section 164 had also mentioned the names of Altaf Hussain, Nadeem Nusrat, Saulat Mirza, Minhaj Qazi and Suhail Zaidi and that they were reportedly involved in conspiracy for the murder of Shahid Hamid.
