Among the echoes of the national anthem Punjab University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran hoisted national flag outside Faisal Auditorium building in connection with the August 14 celebrations. Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran said that Pakistan was an atomic state and its security and prosperity was our prime most objective.
He emphasised upon the PU teachers to help him made PU the greatest seat of learning and focus on the policy of strengthening the faculty by increasing number of PhD teachers. The vice-chancellor presented rich tributes to Quaid and Allama Iqbal and said Pakistan came into being due to their thoughts and untiring efforts.
Later the VC distributed cash prizes among lower scale employees and flag memento among the children. Meanwhile, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore also arranged a flag-hoisting ceremony at its main campus to mark the 62nd Independence Day here on Friday.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz hoisted the national flag while the university staff and students attended the ceremony in large number. Government College University (GCU) Lahore also organised flag hoisting ceremony in connection with 63rd Independence Day celebrations. Addressing the ceremony GCU Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Aftab stressed to follow the teaching of the leader of the nation.
