The veterans of Pakistan movement participated in the debates organised by various television channels including state-run TV in line with Independence Day were unanimous on a point that country would achieve the real targets of progress and prosperity only when the youth force is duly trained and empowered.
Amongst the participants who remained close to Founder of the Nation during Pakistan movement days were of the opinion that Quaid had a very broad vision about the youth of that time and he trusted them more than others. They quoted a number of instances wherein the Father of Nation even differed certain important engagements to attend the youths at certain occasion.
Quoting the example from one of the public meeting where some known Muslim Leaguers wanted to have a photograph with great leader but the later was somehow hesitating. In the meantime some youths surfaced from the crowd and desired to have a photograph with him. The great Quaid jumped forward and had a photograph with the youths without any delay. They said that Quaid was of the firm belief that the youth force would be the real asset and the future of Pakistan.
They regretted that due attention was not paid to this important segment of society during the past and the youth force was thrust into a state of confusion and disappointment. They were still optimistic that if appropriate mental, moral and physical training is imparted to this force, it would prove to be the major source to achieve rapid targets of progress and prosperity.
Appropriate training and financial empowerment of the youth force would help strengthen social peace particularly in the prevailing conditions wherein the country was facing a number of challenges with regard to law and order, the veteran opined. They hoped the revival of democracy in the country would enable the representative leadership to remove all the hurdles which in past blocked the progress of nation towards a real welfare Islamic state as it was envisaged by the founders of nation.
