The Karachi Port handled 178,610 tonnes of cargo including 100,705 tonnes import and 77,905 tonnes export cargo including 2,063 empty and loaded containers during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday. The cargo comprised of 162,665 tonnes dry cargo including 80,126 tonnes containerised and general cargo; 10,375 tonnes fertiliser; 46,328 tonnes coal; 25,836 tonnes cement and 15,945 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Eleven ships namely Hyundai General, Kota Hapas, Sima Sahba, Samin-1, Empire Tulang Bawang, Samho Heron, Fade-1, Vancouver Victory, J. Friend, North Pole and Asia Cement No 5 sailed out to sea during the report period. Ten vessels viz Wajdi Arab, Asia Cement No 5, Queen Arrow-II, Dubai Jewel, Kota Hapas, Samin-1, OOCL Osaka, North Pole, Gulf Tiger and Strilen are currently at the berths.
Six ships namely MT Johar, OOCL Osaka, Utopia Ace, Strilen and Nardos expected to sail on Saturday, while another four vessels viz Queen Arrow-II, Cap George, Red Sea Spirit and Kota Lambai are expected to sail on Sunday. Six vessels viz Abtin -1, Utopia Ace, Ajax, Pacific Arrow, Sea Pride and Aann due to arrive on Saturday, while another five ships namely Al-Soor-II, Al-Marwah, Olympia, Hansa Liberty and LTC Calvin P. Titus are due to arrive on Sunday.

PORT QASIM
A total cargo volume of 64,557 tonnes comprising 51,585 tonnes import and 12,972 tonnes export inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 3,181 containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours on Saturday. The cargo comprised of 16,112 tonnes crude oil; 1,973 tonnes furnace oil; 2,000 tonnes chemicals and 44,472 tonnes containerised cargo.
Three ships namely MT Norgas, Iron Monger-5 and MT Indradi sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another two ships namely CV Maersk Novazzano and MSC Liberty are expected to sail on Saturday. A total of five vessels viz Saudi Tabuk, Polaris Stardom, Benefactor, Prince Jasmine and Orient-II scheduled to load/offload containers, chemicals, canola seeds and cement are currently at the outer anchorage.
Seven ships namely CV Maersk Novazzano, CV MSC Liberty, MV Oriental Moon, MV Shebelle, MV Leopard-B, MT Quetta and MT Indradi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, crude oil and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely Saudi Tabuk, MSC Magali and Polaris Stardom carrying containers and chemicals are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Saturday. Two vessels viz Nostos and Survey Awati carrying furnace oil and iron ore due to arrive on Saturday, while two more container ships namely Al-Mirqab and Pangal are due to arrive on Sunday.
