Students of educational institutions working under Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) will join schools and colleges in full strength from Monday, a week after the two-month long summer holidays. The institutions were opened from August 10 but very a few numbers of students came to schools.
Those students who left capital to visit their relatives in their hometowns have now come back to resume their studies. It takes time for students to adjust and return to their old routine leaving behind the fun filled holidays. Persistent summer heat was keeping students away from schools.
"Class attendance was thin at the beginning of the week and less number of students came to the college so combined classes were arranged to keep them busy in study", Shagufta Shahid, Junior Teacher of Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB), F-8/4 said while talking to APP.
The students normally join school after two to three days of opening of institutes. They share their experiences as to how they spent their vacations and which recreational spots they visited, she said.
Principal Islamabad College for Girls (ICG), F-6/2 Shaista Peerzada said as few students came early on, pupils from various sections got together to attend classes. The classes of Intermediate Part I and graduation have not started which was also the reason of thin attendance. The summer vacations started from June 8 in all the federal institutes.
