Commuters and motorists have to face grave hardships due to extremely slow pace of work on dualisation of Ferozepur road from Chungi Amarsadhu to Kasur as its portion along the drain and median at various places is yet to be compacted and carpeted.
There occurs frequent traffic mess at the road where strip along the drain and median has yet to be developed as only around 60 percent width of the road is used by vehicles at such points.
While work on the drain and service roads is going on at snail's pace, construction material lying at various places on the main road is cause of great nuisance for motorists as it not only creates hurdle in movement of traffic but also results in accidents U-turns and bus stops are also yet to be constructed with buses taking and disembarking passengers on the main road causing hurdle in flow of traffic.
At various places there are deep ditches along the drain on both sides of the road which during rain get filled and motorists being unaware of the same get their vehicles stuck up in these ditches. It may be mentioned that work for construction of the dual carriage way from Lahore to Kasur was initiated some five years back and was initially scheduled to be completed by June. The project was divided in three sections from Chungi Amarsadhu to Kahana, Kahana to Kasur and Kasur to Ganda Singhwala.
