In pursuance of directions of Chief Minister Punjab Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, internationally known and well-reputed cardiologists as well as cardiac surgeons are being recruited at Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology (FIC) while cardiac surgery will be started at the Institute from October this year.
The Medical Superintendent Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology (FIC) Dr Riaz Ahmad Chaudhry, said, here on Monday that FIC will be made a model institute for treatment of the cardio vascular diseases for the benefit of people from inland as well as outside of the country.
In order to extend state-of-the-art medical facilities to the patients, the FIC is getting all possible assistance from the government, he added. He said that a modern operation theater is being constructed, whereas, angiography machine as well as Gama Camera is being installed in the institute at a cost of Rs 60 million.
Moreover, a spokesman of Punjab Health Department has said that no death has occurred in a village of Chichawatni due to Gastro-enteritis vaccine. The spokesman further said that Nooran Bibi wife of Allah Ditta age 35 year resident of Chak No 31/14-L and Mafia Bibi daughter of Ameer age 13/14 years resident of same town died on 10th and 11th August respectively, whereas the medical camp was established in the village on 13th August. He said that Nooran Bibi developed loose motion and vomiting on 8th August but was kept at home without any medical treatment for two days.
On August 10, when the patient's condition became serious, she was shifted to a private clinic at Mian Channu from where she was referred to Nishtar Hospital Multan but she expired on the way to Multan. Whereas Mafia Bibi daughter of Ameer age 13/14 years resident of the same house developed loose motion and vomiting on the mid night of 10/11 August, she was kept at home without any medical treatment and she expired at home at 6:00 am on August 11th.
