Security Forces (SF) have destroyed a base camp of terrorists in Shaheed Sar village of Sar Qila Swat valley, killed 13 terrorists, arrested eight others besides recovering huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosive in 'Operation Rah e Raast' in Swat and other parts of Malakand division during last 24 hours. More than twenty terrorists have surrendered before security forces.
The surrender of terrorists enhanced the confidence of people returning to their homeland, said a spokesman of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) here on Monday. He said that the security forces during a raid in Shaheed Sar village of Sar Qila, Swat Valley, have destroyed terrorists Headquarters, which was being used as base camp. A fierce battle was fought in the area in which seven terrorists were killed and many others injured, he added.
In a fierce battle between security forces and terrorists in Derai village of Swat valley six terrorists were killed and during the search operation forces have also recovered arms, ammunition and explosive, he said. He said that during the operation in Dandai and Sar Qila areas of Swat security forces have neutralised improvised explosive device (IED).
On a tip off, security forces cordoned of Dagai village near Chaprial area of Swat Valley and during search operation they arrested three suspected terrorists from the area. Security forces have also arrested five terrorists in a search operation in Fatehpur area of Swat Valley, the spokesman said.
The ISPR spokesman said that with every passing day the resistance of terrorists in coming to lowest ebb. Twenty terrorists have voluntarily surrendered in Dir, he added. He said that Pakistan Army has distributed 18 trucks of ration and relief items among the internally displaced persons of Malakand division. So far 253,176 cash cards have been distributed among the IDPs, he added.
