An alleged dacoit was killed in an encounter with police in remit of Sohrab Goth on Tuesday while his three accomplices escaped. According to police sources, four unidentified armed persons were trying to flee in a rickshaw near Noman Colony behind Al-Asif Square at gun-point. Police on patrol saw some dubious men and tried to stop them but they opened fire on police party, they added.
The police also retaliated, resulting, dead of an unknown dacoit while his three associates managed to flee in the cover of aerial fire. The body of dacoit was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate and Medical Center (JPMC) for an autopsy. Police have also registered a case against three unidentified dacoits and started further probe.
