The law enforcement agencies are likely to launch a crackdown against the gangsters of Rehman Baloch alias Dakait's group operating in Lyari town, police sources told Business Recorder on Tuesday.
They said the city police with the help of at least 400 commandoes of Anti Terrorism Squad of Pakistan Rangers would shortly launch a crackdown on gangsters belonging to the Abdul Rehman Baloch group for their involvement in criminal activities. The operation would be headed by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ghulam Nabi Memon and Town Police Officer (TPO) Lyari, they added.
Initially, the crackdown would be launched in strongholds of Rehman Baloch's gang including Aath Chowk, Shah Baig Lane, Moosa Lane etc. They said that the operation would only be focused for the arrest of notorious Lyari gangsters including Baba Ladla, Ghaffar Zikri, Jabbar Jhingo, Uzair Baloch and many other active members of the late Rehman's gang.
After killing of Rehman in alleged police encounter, a large number of personnel of Pakistan Rangers have been deployed in many areas of Lyari to thwart any untoward situation and they would also take part in the operation, scheduled to be launched soon, they said.
