Australian High Commissioner in Islamabad Tim George called on City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal at his office on Tuesday. He was accompanied by first secretary (political) Jon Bonnar, honorary Consul Bazl A. Khan and trade commissioner Tahir Mehmood.
According to a press release issued by City District Government Karachi (CDGK) on Tuesday, during the meeting the High Commissioner appreciated development works that have been carried out by city government in the last four years. The High Commissioner also said that Australia wants more investment and business in Karachi and it will encourage all efforts for promotion of bilateral trade with Pakistan.
City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal on this occasion said that that Karachi is not only the backbone of national economy but also considered most important city in the region. It offers lucrative investment and business opportunities to business community all over the world.
Nazim Karachi said that Haq Parast city government has initiated rapid development process in the city, which has improved the basic infrastructure along with the availability of better facilities to citizens and business community. He said that the 15500-km long road network laid in Karachi during the last four years has made the transportation easy and convenient. "Australian investors will be welcomed in Karachi and they will be provided all necessary facilities for business in the city," he added.-PR
