High Commissioner of Maldives, Dr Aishath Shehnaz Adam called on Federal Minister for Sports, Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jillani in his office here Thursday. The discussed matters relating to strengthening the relations between Pakistan and Maldives in Sports sector.
Federal Minister for Sports, Pir Aftab Jillani said that Maldives was an important member of Saarc countries and thanked the High Commissioner and wished best wishes for her country on the behalf of the Government of Pakistan. The High Commissioner, Dr Aishath Shehnaz Adam desired to maintain and further strengthening the bilateral relations, which already exists between the two countries.
She requested for coaching Maldives' players in Sports sector like cricket, hockey, sailing, rowing, and swimming and indoor games. She said that football was Maldives's national game. The Federal Minister assured the High Commissioner that all efforts would be made for the development of Sports activities in Maldives and Pakistani Coaches will be sent to Maldives for the betterment of Sports to meet their requirements, he added. -PR
