Hunarmand Pakistan Programme: 123,000 youths imparted technical, vocational training

National Vocational & Technical Education Commission (NAVTEC) has imparted vocational & technical training to 1,23,000 youth in various disciplines, under Prime Minister's 'Hunarmand Pakistan Programme', to meet the trained workforce needs of the industrial sector.
This was stated by the Chairman, NAVTEC, Mr Adnan A. Khawaja while speaking at the Certificates Distribution Ceremony, held at the Governor's House, Lahore. In addition to Prime Minister's Hunarmand Pakistan Programme, NAVTEC Chairman said, around 50,000 young people will be provided vocational training under President's 'Funni Maharat Programme' in 79 backward tehsils of the country.
Under this programme, training process has already been initiated in 42 tehsils of Punjab province. He was confident that this programme would go a long way in alleviating poverty in the backward and under-developed areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Punjab and Chief Guest of the ceremony, Mr Salman Taseer lauded the interest and practical steps taken by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani to provide vocational & technical training aimed at making the youth useful citizens. Later, Governor Punjab distributed merit certificates amongst the position holders of the NAVTEC's courses.
