Pakistan has manufactured drones and it wanted to obtain the latest American technology to make drones, which would be utilised against terrorists. However India had no right to oppose attaining the capability and technology to manufacture the drones, said federal minister for defence production Sardar Abdul Qayyum Jatoi while talking to newsmen at Multan airport.
He said, "we would also try to procure drones from United States to strengthen our airforce so that we could protect our homeland. To a question he said,"we cannot fight against or compete United States but we have a capability to face our traditional enemy."
He said that it was his personal opinion that action must be taken against the dictators from General Ayyub Khan to Pervez Musharraf who had dissolved the elected governments. Replying to another question he said that pandora box would be opened if Pervez Musharraf was tried under article 6 of the 1973 constitution.
He endorsed the stance of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Pervez Musharraf issue. The Minister said that Punjab Government had taken a good step by taking action against the hoarders of sugar and foiling their bid to fleece the consumers. Qayyum Jatoi said that there would a fight in the streets of southern Punjab if this province was not constituted to end its backwardness and we would force the Government to create the fifth federating unit of Seraikistan, a province of 60 million people. He claimed that Southern Punjab had a population of 60 million while other areas including, upper Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and NWFP had population of 120 million only.
