Sohail Tanvir shackles record books
Pakistan’s star pacer Sohail Tanvir has shackled the record books after picking up the most economical five-fer in the history of cricket.
The Pakistani star along with Rashid Khan ran through the Barbados Tridents' line-up to script a massive 99-run win for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the return fixture of Caribbean Premier League 2017.
Set to chase a modest 159, the home team collapsed to 59 all out inside 14 overs to slip to their fifth loss in seven games thus far, and second on the trot to Warriors.
The pacer was the pick of the bowlers with only his third five-fer in T20 cricket (5 for 3), while Afghanistan leggie Rashid registered his best figures of the season (3 for 15).
Tavir was particularly impressive in his opening burst, dismissing four key batsmen at the top for just two runs. He struck in the very first over to dent Tridents' chase early by taking out Kane Williamson on the fifth ball, having beaten him four times in a row.
The home side had barely recovered when the Pakistan pacer returned to send the other opener, Dwayne Smith, packing in his succeeding over.
