The profit after tax of Adamjee Insurance Company has declined to Rs 582.529 million in the half year period ended June 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 2,998.307 million earned in the same period in 2008. The earning per share of the company reduced to Rs 5.18 in the period under review against Rs 26.66 in the same period last year.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Wednesday recommended an interim cash dividend for the half year at Rs 1.50 per shares ie 15 percent.
