The rupee moved both ways on the currency market on Thursday amid rising demand for the greenback, money analysts said. On the interbank market the rupee fell by 13 paisa against dollar for buying and selling at 82.88 and 82.93, experts said.
In the fourth Asian trading yen rose broadly as investors fretted that a rally in risk assets since March may have run ahead of a recovery in the global economy and on worries about the outlook for Chinese shares.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee did not move any side in relation to dollar for buying and selling at 82.70 and 82.80, dealers said. The rupee, however, managed to gain modestly against the euro rising 55 paisa for buying at Rs 117.10 and it also gained 65 paisa for selling at Rs 117.60, they said.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee showed stability and remained unchanged on buying side while it gained five paisa on selling side in relation to the greenback in the local currency market on Thursday.
The currency dealers stated that there was no visible change in dollar's demand and supply situation that helped rupee stability in the open market. The dollar was traded at Rs 82.60 and Rs 82.90 against the Wednesday closing of Rs 82.60 and Rs 82.95 on buying and selling sides, respectively, the dealers said.
Similarly, the rupee maintained upward slide and further appreciated against the pound sterling. At the end of trading, the pound's buying and selling rates were declined to 133.20 and Rs 134.50, as compared to previous closing of Rs 134.00 and Rs 135.00, respectively, the dealers added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar-rupee parity remained unchanged at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday. The dollar opened at Rs 82.60 (buying) and Rs 82.70 (selling) against the last rate. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 82.60 (buying) and Rs 82.70 (selling). Pound Sterling opened at Rs 132.90 (buying) and Rs 133.90 (selling) against the last rate.
