Indian Central Bureau of Intelligence (CBI) has completely failed to arrest Major Avtar Singh, in connection with the custodial murder of noted Kashmiri human rights activist, Jaleel Andrabi despite Judicial Magistrate warrants in this regard.
According to Kashmir Media Service the hearing of Jaleel Ahmed Andrabi's murder case started in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) occupied Srinagar, Muhammad Ibrahim Wani. The court reissued the orders to execute the Interpol warrants and arrest the Major along with presenting the report before the court.
Taking note of the CBI's continued failures to produce reply in the Court as to whether it had executed the Interpol warrant or not, CJM directed IG Crime and Railways, occupied Srinagar to take up the matter with the CBI.
It may be mentioned here that Major Avtar Singh of Indian Army, who was previously posted in Kashmir, is reportedly now settled in Canada. When the last hearing took place on August 5, no body from the CBI was present in the Court to produce any reply before the CJM.
