The Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Hurriyet (TH) has disclosed that Indian troops have not occupied 1,050,000, but over 2,750,000 kanals of land in occupied Kashmir. Tehreek-i-Hurriyet said that it had collected record of the occupied lands and would make public soon.
TH's District President for Srinagar, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, while addressing a gathering at Tauheed Chowk in Gandarbal, said that the party would raise voice against the coercive occupation of the land and no one would be allowed for its auction.
He said that Tehreek-e-Hurriyet had all the proofs that Indian army had occupied 2,750,000 kanals of land, which would not be tolerated and people would be apprised through a mass contact programme after Eidul Fitr. Kalwal said that the party is continuously in contact with masses and intellectuals and was taking their views on the issue, which would be presented before the people.
He said that pro-India politicians first auctioned the honour and now were auctioning the lands of the Kashmiri people adding that Kashmiris would not remain silent on the issue.
He also reiterated the demand for immediate release of all illegally detained Hurriyet leaders and activists including Syed Ali Gilani, Aasiya Andrabi and Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai. He warned that if they were not released before Eid then Tehreek-e-Hurriyet would start agitation at a larger scale.
On the other hand, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet, Doda district, after a meeting said that Kashmir was a disputed territory and holding of an impartial referendum could end its disputed status. It termed the illegal detention of Hurriyet leaders as frustration of the Indian government.
