Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira Sunday outrightly rejected the baseless accusations of former Governor Punjab Ghulam Mustafa Khar that the Aiwan-e-Sadr was patronising vilification campaign against him and the fellow politicians.
Talking to a private TV channel he said it is a figment of imagination of Khar that the conspiracies are being hatched to disrepute him. Kaira appealed all and sundry not to drag the President unnecessarily in each and every matter under the sun.
President Asif Ali Zardari was striving hard to take aboard country's leading political forces for ensuring a prosperous Pakistan. He urged media to ponder over giving undue attention to those busy in hurling bizarre accusations on country's politicians. The real motives behind the so-called disclosures must be understood.
The revelations of former spy masters are harming country's political fibre, he asked politicians to be patient and try to comprehend real purpose of the conspiracy. The smear campaign has been launched to divide the political forces, he said.
He blamed the leader of the opposition for erupting the smear campaign - as Chaudhry Nisar first started a blame game against the MQM in his national assembly speech.
