Central Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-N Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said the blame game against the PML-N has been designed to divert the attention of the people from the issue of the trial of former president Pervez Musharraf. Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday he said a particular lobby was carrying out propaganda against the PML-N, alleging it had accepted money from intelligence agencies and was responsible for carrying out operation against the MQM in Karachi in 1992.
To a question, he said "the game" against the PML-N would be exposed within the next three months. He expressed serious concern over corruption in deals of rental power plants and Steel Mills. He demanded that parliamentary committee and investigation bodies must investigate corruption scandals so that the plunderers could be taken to task.
The PML-N leader said that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani was making sincere efforts to save the system while it was also obligatory upon him to expose the conspirators and wrong doers. He demanded trial of Pervez Musharraf and restoration of 1973 Constitution in its original shape.
He said that national carrier PIA has been handed over to friends of President Asif Ali Zardari and it is on the brink of bankruptcy due to present inefficient management. Hashmi demanded that present management of PIA must be changed immediately and a professional management should be brought in so that affair of national carrier could be improved.
He said PIA was a national institution but it had been handed over to incapable persons. He also demanded accountability of all those responsible for recent sugar crisis. He said that neither National Assembly nor the PML-N was taken into confidence before giving administrative and political autonomy to the Northern Areas. Hashmi was of the view that Azad Kashmir Assembly must also be taken into confidence on giving autonomy to Northern Areas.
Hashmi said that failures of present government are taken as failure of democracy, hence the government needs to take appropriate steps to improve the state of affairs, he added. The PML-N leader maintained that history is witnessed to the fact that people could not suppress and today Pakistani people rise against terror of the past and ready to render any type of sacrifice for the Constitution and democracy. He said the people of Pakistan had laid strong foundations on March 15 and 16.
