The Directorate of Advanced Studies of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore has arranged a 15-day students orientation programme for the newly admitted postgraduate (MPhil and PhD) students of the university. Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the inaugural ceremony while Director advanced studies Professor Dr Makhdoom Abdul Jabbar, Dean Faculty of Bio-sciences Professor Dr Muhammad Ashraf and faculty members were present on the occasion.
Speaking on this occasion, the vice-chancellor advised the students to focus on their studies, keep themselves updated with new knowledge and spend their maximum time in library and labs.
He asked them to share responsibilities with the faculty members and actively participate in all activities of the university. Professor Dr Makhdoom Abdul Jabbar said that the orientation programme would focus on advanced laboratory techniques, communication and information technology skills and research techniques. He said that 90 percent attendance was compulsory for the students participating in the orientation programme.
