PML-N wants a transparent inquiry into the college admission incident showing alleged involvement of MNA Anjum Aqeel, and if found guilty, the party would take action against him. "PML-N has constituted a committee for probing this incident and we would take action against the MNA if solid proof was found. We will not create any hurdle in promotion of truth and completely follow the rule and law," PML-N spokesman expressed these views while addressing a news conference here on Saturday.
He said that the Principal of the college had lodged an FIR against Anjum Aqeel. He added that the MNA had to register counter-FIR because the staff of the college injured his worker, but he could not do so. The incident took place at Federal Government College for Boys, F-10/4, when personal secretary (PS) to the MNA visited the college seeking admission for one Sadaqat Ali, son of Nizakat Ali, (form no 0281) who had, earlier, failed to meet the set criteria.
The PMl-N spokesman said that a transparent inquiry should be conducted after FIR. "We will not create any hurdle in the way of justice and truth and accept it whole heartedly. This incident is not a scandal but a problem and an FIR has been registered in this regard," he said.
He said that this incident has been brought to the notice of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif. "We know the respect of teacher; Anjam Aqeel also remained a teacher. We will apologise from the principal if the MNA had committed any mistake," he said.
