Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources (MPNR) Syed Naveed Qamar on Saturday visited the head office of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL). This was the minister's first official visit to the company after taking charge. Special Secretary MPNR C A Sabri was also present on the occasion. On his arrival, the minister was welcomed by MD and CEO PPL Khalid Rahman and his management team.
In his brief address, Khalid Rahman reaffirmed PPL's commitment to last-track exploration activities towards ensuring a sustainable energy future for the country. He thanked the ministry for extending its full co-operation, support and guidance in steering the company forward.
The minister was given an overview of the company's corporate structure, current activities, ongoing and future expiration plans as well as key focus areas. Sharing his views, the minister provided guidance to capture best business prospects and opportunities to address escalating energy demand.
He also emphasised on the need to enhance hydrocarbon production, local community participation and corporate social responsibility work in the company's operational areas. The minister assured the PPL management of the fullest support and co-operation of the MPNR in assisting the company to fulfil its strategic business plans.-PR
