A division bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) here, on Monday, dismissed a civil miscellaneous application of Punjab Sugar Mills Associations (PSMA), seeking stay order against LHC's an earlier verdict fixing sugar price at Rs 40 per kg. The Association through its counsel Shahid Karim submitted an application that it had not got so far the attested copy of LHC's verdict about sugar price, which was required to file appeal before Supreme Court.
Counsel said that the Court had issued a short order regarding sugar price and its detailed judgement was pending so the impugned order could not be challenged before SC. The counsel therefore requested the court that till the provision of attested copy of the order the operation of earlier order should be suspended. The bench, however, dismissed the application asking the PSMA's counsel to collect the copy of detailed judgement on Tuesday (today). The bench was comprised of Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif and Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry.
