Summaries of the ICE Futures US cocoa, coffee and sugar markets. December arabica coffee contract eased 1.15 cents to $1.2405 per lb at 11:06 am EDT (1506 GMT). Session range from $1.2320 to $1.2620. Arabica futures slipped in thin dealings, pressured by the quiet physical market, technical weakness and a lack of new fundamentals, said brokers.
October raw sugar contract gained 0.31 cent to 21.30 cents per lb at 11:07 am. Trading range from 21 to 21.32 cents. Sugar up on investor buying, but volumes were fairly modest as the market consolidates near 21 cents, said traders. Benchmark December cocoa contract rose $42 to $3,075 per tonne by 11:08 am. Session range from $3,005 to $3,078, the highest level for the second-month contract since July 7, 2008. Market continued higher with a boost from the strong sterling and investor buying, despite the view of many that it is overbought, said traders.
