Recently, Talat Hussain of Aaj TV did a series of programmes on Balochistan that was a praiseworthy effort and need of the hour. At this time, when our entire media is debating on 20 years old stuff, which has no worth today, I am glad to see that at least one TV anchor/journalist can identify the real issues of Pakistan.
Discussion on 20 years old stories is just a waste of time and can not help us resolve our current problems. There is need to discuss the current and burning issues that are affecting this country and its public like Balochistan. This issue must be discussed and addressed today, not after 20 years.
Besides this, I am surprised that a TV anchor can go to Balochistan, get information, talk to people from different walks of life and try to reach the root cause of this problem, but our government, Prime Minister, President, ministers, opposition, parliamentarians, political/religious parties cannot do this exercise. They just sit in Islamabad and say that the APC will be called shortly and the problem would be resolved soon. We just want to know when will our rulers and leaders wake up?
