Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Friday strongly condemned the attack on the reporting team of a private TV channel in Murree saying that through such tactics media could not be silenced. The minister said that he has forwarded the matter to the Punjab government and asked for strict action against the perpetrators of this crime.
It may be mentioned here that news team of a private TV channel was thrashed by alleged flour hoarders in the jurisdiction of Trait Police Station on Thursday. The news team was manhandled while it was recording on its camera huge quantity of flour stored in the hoarders' godown.
