A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Interior would be held on Tuesday at National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) Headquarters. The meeting would discuss status of the cases registered against Syed Sarwat Hussain and his wife Shafia on charges of Narcotics smuggling to Saudi Arabia, says a statement issued here on Sunday.
Besides, review of implementation on the recommendations made by the committee regarding NSRC's and other matters including general criteria of appointment against vacant posts is also said to be on agenda of the scheduled meeting.
Meanwhile, issue of issuing Pakistani National Identity Cards to Afghan nationals and its reasons would be discussed. Chairman of the committee Senator Muhammad Talha Mahmood has desired to hold this meeting open for all media for live coverage of the proceedings of the meeting, said the statement.
