The engineers of Pakistan Army have constructed the Timergara bridge in record 12 hours, and opened it for traffic, said an ISPR press release here on Wednesday. According to details, this historic bridge that connects highway of Lower Dir and Upper Dir districts was blown up by militants at Nagothal, which resulted into closure of traffic, besides affecting the transportation of relief goods to IDPs.
To overcome these problems, Pakistan Army started work on emergency basis to construct this bridge on 70 feet deep nullah, and Pak Army's engineers completed construction work in a record time. The compact of the iron bridge is 2000, that can sustain a load up to 50 tons.
This bridge has now been opened for traffic. It merits to mention that co-operation of people of the area during its reconstruction was overwhelming and highly praiseworthy. They worked shoulder to shoulder with the army during its all reconstruction phases, and played effective role in completion of this project before in time.
